CBSE Class 12 Business Studies Previous-Year Question Papers

Find official papers and marking schemes, then practise turning what you know into a clear answer that fits the question.

By: ClazzPro · Official sources checked: 19 October 2026 · CBSE Class XII

Use this free Business Studies guide to find CBSE’s main-examination papers for 2026, 2025 and 2024, the corresponding marking-scheme archives and the current session’s sample paper. Students and parents in Dubai, the UAE and elsewhere can use the same official source links.

Downloading a paper is the starting point. A useful practice session also includes an independent attempt, a careful review and one specific correction to work on next.

Official Business Studies downloads: 2026, 2025 and 2024

These are Class XII main-examination links from CBSE’s question-paper and marking-scheme archives. Each download is a ZIP archive, rather than a single PDF. Extract the archive to see its files.

Current session: syllabus and sample paper 2026–27

Prepare against the current syllabus before selecting older practice questions. The official Business Studies curriculum includes Classes XI and XII; open the Class XII section for this course. CBSE links this document from its 2026–27 curriculum index, although parts of the PDF retain older session labels.

The current sample question paper and its marking scheme are separate CBSE PDFs. They are 2026–27 session resources for 2027 preparation, not actual 2027 board-examination papers. You can also find them by selecting Business Studies on the official Class XII sample-paper index.

Which resource should you use first?

Use the syllabus to decide what belongs in your plan, the sample question paper (SQP) to become familiar with the current session’s format, and previous-year questions (PYQs) to practise applying what you have learnt. A 2026 examination paper is a past paper; a 2026–27 sample paper is a different resource.

If school has not taught a topic yet, begin with learning and short topic practice. When you have covered enough of the course, attempt a larger section or a complete paper. More downloaded sets do not automatically create better preparation: choose an amount you can attempt and review properly.

A Business Studies practice method you can repeat

  1. Define today’s task. Choose a topic check, a few case-based responses or a full paper. Write down what you want to find out, such as whether you can distinguish similar concepts without your notes.
  2. Read the command and every part of the question. Notice whether you need to identify, explain, distinguish, justify or suggest. Mark the separate tasks on rough paper so that a good first answer does not hide an unanswered second part.
  3. Identify the concept before writing at length. For a case, note the relevant detail and the idea it points to. Then explain the connection. Copying a sentence from the case without showing why it matters may leave your reasoning unclear.
  4. Keep the answer organised. Use distinct points where the task calls for them, and explain each point instead of relying on a heading alone. For a distinction, compare the two ideas using the same basis rather than writing two unrelated descriptions.
  5. Check the matching marking scheme. Review the required ideas and how the scheme allocates credit. Record which part of your response is missing or uncertain. Ask your school teacher about judgements you cannot resolve through self-marking.
  6. Reattempt without the solution. Revise one weak concept, write the answer again after a gap and try a different relevant question. Keep both attempts so that your review is based on work you produced independently.

Keep a useful Business Studies error log

These are original study examples, not copied CBSE examination questions. Add the paper year, code and question number to your own log so that you can return to the source.

What happened?What will I practise?How will I check it?
I recognised the topic but named a related concept instead of the one supported by the case.Write a brief meaning for each concept and explain the difference using my own example.Read a fresh case and justify the choice before looking at a solution.
I wrote a correct heading but did not explain the point.Expand the heading into a sentence that answers how or why, using relevant detail where needed.Check whether someone can understand my point without adding an explanation for me.
The question had two tasks, but I answered only one.List the tasks before drafting and tick them off during my final check.Review the next attempt against every part of the question.
I spent too long repeating ideas I had already made.Plan distinct points briefly, then remove repetition during review.Record time taken and compare the clarity of my next independent attempt.

A parent review can stay simple: ask which error the student corrected, what they can now explain and what remains difficult. A total score is useful evidence, but it does not replace a specific next step.

Common questions about Business Studies papers

Are these solved papers?

The links provide official CBSE question-paper archives and separate marking-scheme archives. A marking scheme supports assessment; it is not a complete lesson on every concept. Use it after an independent attempt and seek an explanation when the reasoning is unclear.

Should I complete every available set?

Start with a manageable selection and review it properly. Choose additional questions to check whether a corrected skill transfers to a new situation. Avoid repeating familiar answers while leaving difficult topics untouched.

Can previous papers predict the next examination?

Use them to practise and identify gaps. They do not establish what will appear in a future paper. Build your plan around the current syllabus, your school’s guidance and evidence from your own attempts.

Official sources and this guide

This guide was prepared by ClazzPro. Official source links were checked on 19 October 2026. The original practice suggestions and error-log examples are ClazzPro guidance; CBSE publishes the linked documents. Source-link checking does not imply that every archived question, set or marking-scheme pairing has been reviewed.

Official documents remain hosted by CBSE. If an individual link changes, return to the question-paper index, marking-scheme index, curriculum index or sample-paper index. Follow any later CBSE correction and confirm school-specific instructions with your school.
