Find official Accountancy papers and marking schemes
Use these CBSE sources:

| Resource | Open the official source |
|---|---|
| Papers from examinations already held | CBSE previous years’ question-paper archive |
| Marking schemes for held examinations | CBSE examination marking-scheme archive |
| Current sample paper and its marking scheme | CBSE Class XII sample papers for 2026–27 — select Accountancy |
| Current subject scope | CBSE 2026–27 curriculum index — select Accountancy under XI–XII |
In the archives, choose Class XII, the examination year and Accountancy. Main and compartment examination sections are separate. Check the paper code on the question paper and the corresponding marking scheme; the same year alone is not enough to identify the correct pair. An archive download may contain several files, so check their labels before starting.
Previous-year paper or sample paper?
A previous-year question paper (PYQ) was used in an examination already held. A sample question paper (SQP) illustrates a session’s paper format and question types; its marking scheme helps you review responses. The 2026–27 SQP is preparation material for the 2027 examination, not the actual 2027 board paper. Use the current syllabus to check older questions before practising them.
Accountancy also has alternative Part B routes. Confirm whether your school follows Financial Statement Analysis or Computerised Accounting, and practise the relevant option.
A five-step Accountancy practice routine
- Choose the task. If a chapter is still new, start with a few relevant questions. Use a complete timed paper after covering enough of the syllabus.
- Attempt without the solution. Write the account headings and working notes clearly. Keep calculations visible so you can trace where an error begins.
- Check against the matching scheme. Review both the result and the method. If an unfamiliar solution leaves you unsure, ask your teacher to clarify it.
- Record the cause. Separate a concept gap from a copying mistake, calculation error, missing working or unfinished question.
- Reattempt after a gap. Close the solution and redo the difficult part independently. Then try a different question that tests the same skill.
An error log you can actually use
These are original examples of study notes, not past-paper questions.

| What I noticed | What I will change | My next check |
|---|---|---|
| I copied a balance as ₹63,000 instead of ₹36,000. | Tick each source figure after transferring it and check the amount before calculating. | Redo that working without looking at my first attempt. |
| I could follow the solution but could not choose the method myself. | Explain why that method fits, then practise a similar question without notes. | Write the first two steps before opening a solution. |
| I ran out of time on a long question. | Time the individual stages and identify where I paused. | Reattempt a comparable question with a realistic time limit. |
For each entry, add the year, paper code and question number. Keep that evidence with your notes so you can find the question again.
